Eric Melin

Eric is a storyteller and a creative problem-solver — a multi-headed hydra of creativity.

He’s Creative Director here at 1P, but he’s also a drummer, a TEDx speaker, a film critic, a social media manager, and — yes, this is true — the 2013 Air Guitar World Champion. Currently retired from competition, he’s a tireless ambassador for the international air guitar community and speaks at conferences worldwide about the creativity it inspires as well as its dream of achieving world peace.

Before heading west to join 1P, Eric was the Senior Social Media Community Manager at ad agency Callahan and Marketing Manager at social monitoring startup Spiral16.

He graduated with a film degree from the University of Kansas, was President of the Kansas City Film Critics Circle, and has been a Tomatometer-approved critic since 2004.

He has also toured extensively and recorded over a dozen albums with different bands (such as Ultimate Fakebook) for a multitude of major and indie labels.
